Five generations of renowned Hunter Valley horsemanship

Cangon Stud Farm caters for both short- and long-term spelling and broodmare agistment, combining experienced staff, quality pastures, safe fencing and a peaceful environment.

A complete re-fencing program was undertaken at great expense to accommodate all visiting horses and to provide the safest possible environment available. Paddocks are divided into 4-to-5 acres lots, with other paddocks extending upwards of 40 acres in size — mostly double fenced.

Paddocks range from alluvial flats through to steeper contours. Provision has also been made for visiting colts and stallions, with purpose built runs each one-acre in size, all with shelters and made from post and rail for safety.

All paddocks are seeded annually with clover and rye grass to provide quality pasture. Horses are watered by a system of troughs connected to the domestic supply providing clean and fresh water to all paddocks. With an annual rainfall of 42 inches, the farm is virtually drought free.
